What Is Today's Date?
Your current local date and time, plus the day of the week, the day of the year, how many days are left in the year, and the ISO week number.
Why the date can differ by time zone
A calendar date is a property of a place, not a single global moment -- the instant it becomes a new day rolls around the planet one time zone at a time. That's why this page reads your browser's own clock and time zone instead of assuming UTC or any other fixed reference: the correct answer to "what is today's date" genuinely depends on where you are.
Need a different date's details?
This page only answers for right now. For any other date's weekday, use the Day of the Week Calculator; for its ISO week, the ISO Week Number Calculator; or to add or subtract days from it, Add Days to a Date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does this need my time zone at all?
Because the calendar date can already be different depending on where you are -- someone in Tokyo can be on tomorrow's date while someone in Los Angeles is still finishing today's. This page reads your device's own clock and time zone rather than showing a single fixed date for everyone.
What is "day of the year"?
The ordinal count of today within the current calendar year -- January 1 is day 1, December 31 is day 365 (366 in a leap year). It's a plain running count of the days elapsed, unrelated to the week number.
What is the ISO week number?
The ISO 8601 standard's way of numbering weeks: week 1 is the Monday-to-Sunday week containing the year's first Thursday. Most years have 52 ISO weeks; some have 53. See the ISO Week Number Calculator to look one up for a different date.
Does this page update automatically?
Yes -- it refreshes on its own roughly once a minute, so a tab left open across midnight still shows the correct date without needing a manual reload.
