How old am I?
Your exact age is your birth date subtracted from today, counted in whole calendar years first, then whole months, then whatever days are left over — so someone born on March 15, 1994 turns a new age on March 15 every year, not on some average-length approximation of a year. The total day count (useful for "how many days have I been alive") and total week count are shown alongside it, and the next-birthday line tells you the weekday it falls on and how many days away it is.
Frequently Asked Questions
How old am I exactly?
Enter your date of birth and this shows your age in whole years, months and days as of today — not a decimal approximation. It also gives the total as a single number of days, weeks and months, since some contexts (visa applications, milestone tracking) ask for those instead.
How is age calculated when my birthday is Feb 29?
In a non-leap year, a Feb 29 birthday's calendar equivalent is Feb 28 — that's when the "next birthday" and the years/months/days breakdown treat the year as complete. Every fourth year, when Feb 29 exists again, the calculation lines back up exactly.
Can I find my age on a date other than today?
Yes — change the "age as of" field to any date, past or future, and every number updates: your age on that date, how many days old you were, and how far that date was from your next birthday at the time.
Why do the years, months and days not match a simple day-count division?
Because calendar months vary in length. The years/months/days figure counts whole calendar years first, then whole calendar months, then whatever days are left — the same way you'd count age by hand — rather than dividing the total day count by 365.25 and 30.4, which would give a slightly different (and less intuitive) answer.
